PEMIKIRAN AL-GHAZALI TENTANG TUJUAN PENDIDIKAN DAN RELEVANSINYA DEWASA INI

Abstract


Tujuan pendidikan merupakan komponen penting dalam dunia pendidikan yang harus dicapai dalam pembelajaran agar dapat mengembangkan kompetensi dan keterampilan yang dimiliki. Tujuan ini juga harus ditetapkan agar hasil dari pendidikan dapat tercapai secara maksimal. Hal ini juga menjadi pembahasan para ulama tidak terkecuali oleh Al-Ghazali. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tujuan pendidikan menurut Al-Ghazali dan relevansi dari pendidikan nya pada dewasa ini. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode data kualitatif dengan pendekatan metode studi tokoh agar dapat mengupas pemikiran dari tokoh Islam. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tujuan pendidikan menurut Al-Ghazali dipengaruhi oleh ilmu tasawuf yang dikuasanya. Ilmu tasawuf merupakan ilmu yang memandang bahwa kehidupan dunia bukanlah kehidupan yang harus didewakan dan dibanggakan karena kehidupan dunia tidak bersifat abadi dan hanyalah kehidupan sementara untuk insan Allah Swt. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bagaimana pembentukan insan yang bisa menyeimbangkan kehidupan dari dua sisi yaitu : kehidupan dunia dan kehidupan akhirat. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari pendidikan Al-Ghazali perlu diterapkan pengaplikasiannya pada pendidikan dewasa ini.
