ANALISIS SWOT TERHADAP PENGEMBANGAN CELLULOSIC ETANOL DI INDONESIA

Abstract

The  Bioenergy  Commodity   Development   is one strategy  to overcome  the high  price  of fuel ill the  future.  Ethanol  is one of the  bioenergy commodities   that  can  substitute   the  using of gasoline.  Indonesian  govenunent   has a serious  concern  the ethanol  development,   especially sugarcane  and cassava  based  ethanol.  Cellulosic  ethanol  is a kind of ethanol  that promising to be develops  in the  future.  The raw materials  of Cellulosic  ethanol  are agricultural   waste, forestry   waste,   municipaJ   waste,   trees   and  grasses.   That   such  materials   can  be  obtain without   competition    with  the  food  commodities    development,    so  there are  no  dualism between   food   or  fuel  like    sugarcane   and  cassava   based    ethanol.     This  paper   tries  to forecast   the  cellulosic   ethanol   development    in  Indonesia   by  using  the  SWOT  (Strong Weakness   Opportunity  and  Threat)   analysis.   SWOT   analysis   observed   by  the  land  and materiaJ  availability,   research   and  development,   technical,   government   rule,  environment and world  price  oil aspects.
