Implementasi Komunikasi Verbal dan Non Verbal dalam Kegiatan Public Speaking Santri di Pondok Pesantren Darul Falah Amtsilati Putri Bangsri Jepara
Abstract
Public speaking is a person's skill to be able to speak in public. In public speaking activities, there is a need for harmony between the speaker and listener so both can communicateeach other well. The purpose of this study was to describe the form of Verbal and Non-verbal Communication Implementation in Public Speaking Activities for Students at the Darul Falah Islamic Boarding School, Amtsilati Putri Bangsri Jepara. These problems were discussed through field studies. The data obtained through free interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The results showed that the public speaking activities of students at the Darul Falah Islamic boarding school Amtsilati Putri Bangsri Jepara were: (1) Forms of verbal communication implemented in Public speaking activities in the form of spoken words, use of language and understanding of the meaning of the material delivered by the speaker. (2) Forms of nonverbal communication implemented in public speaking activities of santri at Darul Falah Amtsilati Putri Islamic boarding school in the form of spatial and temporal cues, including visual cues (kinesic, facial expression and eye contact), hand signals, and the use of vocal cues which include paralinguistic sound quality and vocalization.
