PENGARUH SUHU DAN WAKTU PENGEMPAAN TERHADAP SIFAT FISIK DAN MEKANIK PAPAN PARTIKEL KAYU SENGON ( Paraserienthes Falcataria (L) Nielson)

Abstract

ABSTRACT

The design used in this research is factorial experiment 3x3 by three times repeatition arranged in Completely Randomized Design. Continuous analysis by using Tukey procedure. Three limits of metal handiwork temperature factor is 100 celcius degree, 130 celcius degree, and 160 celcius degree. Three limits of metal handiwork factor is 5 minutes, 7,5 minutes, 10 minutes and the glue 7,5 % from particle air cell. The characteristic of tested particle board is physics involved in water level,density, water absorbance and thick development and mechanic invloved in static curve strength (MEO nad MOR) and surface line pressure strength. The result of experiment showed that water level is influenced by factor of temperature and time of metal handiworking due to interaction, the density influenced by factor of temperature and time of metal handiworking, water absorbance was not influence by time of metal handiworking but time of temperature of metal handiworking, surface line pressure strength was not influenced by factor of time of metal handiworking, MOR was not influencd by factor of time of metal handiworking but temperature and MOE was influenced by factor of temperature and time of handiworking but no interaction happened. The longer of time is the higher of temperature of metal handiworking is as the result of particle board which is strong and good in quality.

ABSTRAK

Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah percobaan factorial 3x3 dengan tiga kali ulangan yang diatur dalam rancangan acak lengkap (Completely Randomized Design). Analisis lanjutan dengan menggunakan prosedur Tukey. Tiga aras faktor suhu Pengempaan adalah 100 derajat celcius, 130 derajat celcius dan 160 derajat celcius. Tiga aras faktor waktu pengempaan adalah 5 menit, 7,5 menit, 10 menit dan perekatnya 7,5 % dari berat kring udara partikel. Sifat papan partikel yang diuji adalah sifat fisik yang meliputi kadar air, berat jenis, penyerapan air dan pengembangan tebal serta sifat mekanik meliputi keteguhan lengkung statik (MEO dan MOR) dan Keteguhan Tekan Sejajar Permukaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kadar air dipengaruhi oleh faktor suhu dan waktu pengempaan dengan terjadi interaksi, berat jenis dipengaruhi oleh faktor suhu dan waktu pengempaan, penyerapan air tidak dipengaruhi oleh suhu pengempaan tetapi dipengauhi oleh faktor waktu suhu pengempaan, keteguhan tekan sejajar permukaan tidak dipengaruhi oleh faktor waktu pengempaan, MOR tidak dipengaruhi oleh faktor waktu pengempaan tetapi dipengaruhi oleh faktor suhu pengempaan dan MOE dipengaruhi oleh faktor suhu dan waktu pengempaan tetapi tidak terjadi interaksi. Semakin lama waktu pengempaan dan semakin tinggi suhu pengempaan akan diperoleh hasil papan partikel yang kuat dan baik kualitasnya.
