FREKUENSI KEMATANGAN GONAD TERIPANG (HOLOTHUROIDEA) DI PANTAI BANDENGAN KABUPATEN JEPARA

Abstract


ABSTRACT

Sea cucumber is one of biota of the sea that has a prospect to be expanded in cultivation business. The crucial thing in cultivating sea cucumbergouytrewq is supplying seed. How to get the seed from nature as well as seedbed was by knowing the ripeness time of sea cucumber?s mother gonad. The purpose of this research is to know the ripeness frequency of sea cucumber gonad based on time and place of sample taken. The benefit of this research is there was information about the ripeness time of sea cucumber gonad. The method is a case study in which the sample was taken three times repeated with time interval about two weeks. The result of the research could be detected that on June up to July 2010, sea cucumber in Bandengan beach of Jepara regency was doing reproduction process sexually. On the growing step 26, 92%, step of cell improvement was 11,54%, the step of active and growth was 26,92%, the step of maturation was 30,77% and the step of spawning was 3,84%.

ABSTRAK

Teripang merupakan salah satu biota laut yang mempunyai prospek cukup baik untuk dikembangkan dalam usaha budidaya. Permasalahan penting dalam budidaya teripang adalah penyediaan benih. Untuk mendapatkan benih dari alam maupun usaha pembenihan terlebih dahulu harus mengetahui waktu kematangan gonad induk teripang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui frekuensi kematangan gonad teripang yang didasarkan pada waktu dan tempat pengambilan sampel. Manfaat penelitian ini adalah tersedianya informasi tentang waktu kematangan gonad teripang. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode studi kasus di mana sampel diambil sebanyak tiga kali ulangan dengan interval waktu dua mingguan. Hasil penelitian dapat diketahui pada bulan Juni ? Juli 2010, teripang di pantai Bandengan Kabupaten Jepara sedang mengalami proses reproduksi secara seksual. Tahap pertumbuhan sebanyak 26,92%, tahap perbaikan sel sebanyak 11,54%, tahap aktif/perkembangan sebanyak 26,92%, tahap pemasakan sebanyak 30,77%, dan tahap pemijahan sebanyak 3,84%.
